About Us

Mogu Magu

An AAPI culture, food, and cannabis collective

We started co-hosting Mogu Magu gatherings to explore our cultural heritage through food + cannabis + conversation. For many of us, cannabis is taboo, but here we find belonging and shared perspectives. What results is a beautiful union of community and camaraderie.

Mogu means mushroom, it’s in our name. And Magu, the Hemp Goddess, we honor her fame. Through food and cannabis, we celebrate. Our culture and heritage, we elevate.

    CO-HOST

In my family, the art of searching for and eating really delicious food is the joie de vie of life. When I meet other people who love to eat and enjoy cannabis, it feels like I found a kindred spirit. The act of sharing a meal, passing a joint, and enjoying long conversations together bridges cultures, builds understanding, and brings us together.

  • Wendy Zeng @wenyerhungry

    CO-HOST

Growing up in America I never really felt like I belonged when it comes to the Asian community. It wasn’t until I started meeting other creatives and entrepreneurs in cannabis and food that I found the cool, unapologetic, culture-shifting Asian community I had been looking for my whole life.

  • Rachel Du @absolutepothead

    ART CURATOR

I developed a deep passion and curiosity for Chinese history and its visual culture. Integrating cannabis into my love for food and art history has broadened my perspective on the intersection of culture, art, and identity. I hope to inspire and empower others to explore their rich heritage through the lens of art and cannabis, fostering a deeper appreciation of our shared history and unique cultural perspectives.

“What’s so dope about Christina and Wendy is that they have CLARITY about who they are, what they do, and who it’s for.”
